Application Fund Grant funds for the current fiscal year have been awarded.   Please visit this website after July 1, 2010 for news and updates on the next grant cycle.

The purpose of the Application Fund is to provide communities and businesses with funding to defray the costs of grant writing and related proposal development expenses. Application Funds may be used to pay up to half the cost of preparing a grant application for financial support from state (other than Iron Range Resources), federal or private grant programs.

Total funds available: $80,000

Maximum award: 50% of the cost or up to $3,500 per application.  For renewable energy, energy conservation and energy efficiency applications, IRR will provide a 3:1 match (75% of application cost) up to $ 5,000 per application.

Deadline: Applications accepted throughout the year

Eligibility: Eligible applicants are units of government, nonprofits, businesses and educational institutions located in the region statutorily defined as the Taconite Assistance Area (TAA) M.S. §273.1341.

Applicants must submit the one page application on page 2 of the fund guidelines and receive a letter of eligibility from the Iron Range Resources before expenditures can be reimbursed under this program.
